$25k Bonus; White’s 6-Year Apprentice Award
The foundry gathered for a BBQ morning tea Friday 26th January to celebrate Ryan O’Hagan’s achievement in reaching the 6-year milestone in our Apprentice Award Program. Ryan is the second staff member to achieve the milestone in the program’s history.
To succeed in qualifying for the $25,000 award, staff members need to meet the following requirements:
- Six-years continuous service of full-time employment from commencement
- Paid award wages during apprenticeship
- Successful completion of apprenticeship
- At least two years employment post apprenticeship
- Satisfactory performance and conduct throughout the six-year period
C.E.O. Craig White reflected on Ryan’s time with White Industries;
“I have known Ryan for a long time, and he is always a cheerful little red-headed kid that was always well behaved. I have had the pleasure of watching him grow into the young man we see before us today.
During the July school holidays of 2014, Ryan got a taste of what the Foundry had to offer. He must have enjoyed his time, leaving a good impression on the guys he worked with on the shop floor as he was offered an apprenticeship in January the following year.
During the past six years, Ryan has worked in every section of the Foundry. There have been Friday arvos where I have found him swinging off a 9inch grinder in the Aftercast section while trying to track him down to give him his payslip. These days Ryan is one of our stop-gap guys, who helps fill-in at each section when required.”
Craig continued, “Ryan was our second apprentice to sign up to the White Industries apprentice awards program and receive the bonus. As a family-owned business, we have always strived to train and retain staff. So, Ryan, we are pleased to honour your achievement through our Apprentice Award Program.
Congratulations on reaching this important six years of service milestone. Your loyalty and dedication to our company and our customers does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.
