Winners of the Family Business of the year for Qld & Induction to the Family Business Hall of Fame
The 19th of September was National Family Business Day, which recognises the great contribution family businesses make to the Australian economy, community and culture. This year, White Industries has very proudly been announced, not only the winner of the Family Business of the year for Queensland by the Family Business Association (FBA) but also inducted into the Family Business Hall of Fame.
Just how important are family businesses to Australia?
- Family businesses account for approximately 70 per cent of all businesses in Australia – estimated at half a million businesses
- Approximately 50 per cent of the Australian workforce is employed in family businesses
- Australian family business sector is worth approximately $4.3 trillion
- The average family business has a turnover of $12 million, and employs 37 people
Family businesses have long been a large contributor to Australia’s economy and it’s wonderful they can be recognised for their contribution to our nations economy, community and culture. White Industries along with the other 6 inductee’s will be in the running for winning the National Family Business of the year award at next year’s FBA National Conference.
