Inland Rail is an innovative and iconic project, to connect regional Australian industry to domestic and international markets, transforming the way we move freight around the country. It will complete the “spine” of the national freight network between Melbourne and  Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

This new 1,700km line is the largest freight rail infrastructure project in Australia. Early works started in 2017, and based on the 10-year delivery schedule developed in 2015, the first train is expected to operate in 2024-25.The Government has committed $8.4 billion to deliver the Inland Rail project, in addition to the previously funded $900 million.

The dedicated freight network will transform the way we move goods between Melbourne and Brisbane, connecting our farms, mines, cities and ports to global markets. It will support Australia’s four richest farming regions, providing supply chain benefits and substantial cost savings for producers.

The Inland Rail will provide White Industries’ customers an additional shipping option, with one of the major hubs destined to be only a short distance from Dalby, further reducing cost and delivery times.
